Simon Lim, Associate
Simon has spent five years developing and implementing strategies for growth and sustainability with Global 500 companies in the industrial and retail sectors. He combines a focus on strategy with multidisciplinary, divergent thinking. Since joining GreenOrder in 2010, Simon has worked with a global chemicals manufacturer on a variety of corporate initiatives over the course of a three-plus-year engagement, including strategy development and goal-setting, competitive benchmarking, operational performance forecasting, long-term megatrend evaluation, and external stakeholder engagement. Additionally, he identified energy and water efficiency projects for a Fortune 50 retailer and supported General Electric’s corporate ecomagination team and its business unit counterparts on strategy and marketing. Prior to joining GreenOrder, Simon spent two years driving multi-channel, brand strategy, and international expansion growth initiatives for Sears Holdings Corporation, a Fortune 50 U.S. retailer and top 10 U.S. online retailer. He co-founded Sears Holdings' Green Associate Network, a 200-member internal organization established to raise employee awareness of sustainability issues. He also made significant contributions in shaping the evolution of a leadership development program of which he was an original member. Simon holds a B.A. in East Asian Studies from Yale College. As an undergraduate, he designed and implemented sustainability projects as a college coordinator for the Yale Student Taskforce for Environmental Partnership (now the Yale Office of Sustainability Service Corps). Simon originally hails from San Francisco, California, and grew up spending his summers visiting U.S. National Parks and traveling across continents. He is nurturing a passion for innovations in business models, partnerships, and technologies to resolve global and regional water issues. His writing has appeared on Bloomberg and GreenBiz.
