Sam Shrank, AnalystSam comes to GreenOrder with a background in energy systems, environmental engineering and economics.
Prior to joining GreenOrder, Sam worked at the Worldwatch Institute as a Climate and Energy Research Fellow, advising Caribbean governments on their countries’ potential for renewable energy growth and related technical considerations. He also spent one year with the Border Green Energy Team in Thailand, installing renewable energy systems, including photovoltaic arrays, micro-hydro facilities, and anaerobic digesters, in off-grid villages. While there, Sam also developed a business plan for repairing existing solar home systems.
Sam holds a M.S. in Civil & Environmental Engineering and a B.A. in Economics with Honors and Distinction from Stanford University. As an undergraduate he conducted independent research on mini-grid business models in India and wrote his thesis on the potential profitability of solar water heating in New Zealand’s tourism industry.
