Mahima Sukhdev, Analyst
Mahima comes to GreenOrder with a background in international environmental policy and sustainable development, and experience in consulting. Prior to joining GreenOrder, Mahima worked at Dalberg Global Development Advisors, where she was involved in a World Bank-commissioned project to assess women’s health and safety needs in Mumbai’s public transport and develop a gender action plan for the city’s large-scale urban transport upgrade project. Mahima brings significant experience working in the environmental space internationally. She carried out an independent assessment for the Zanzibar Department of Environment, measuring the effectiveness of the existing legal framework to regulate the environmental impact of the rapidly developing hotel industry on the island. She also conducted research on the role of conservation in poverty alleviation at the Secretariat of the U.N. Convention on Biological Diversity in Montreal, and interned at Sanctuary magazine, India’s leading nature magazine. Mahima graduated summa cum laude from Yale University, where she received a B.A. in Political Science with a concentration in Environmental Law and Policy. As an undergraduate, Mahima worked at the Yale Center for Environmental Law and Policy, analyzing the design of national-level political institutions to assess their ability to address climate change. She also acted as a college sustainability coordinator, engaging students in environmental initiatives on campus and running a recycling helpline.
